N.C. Das pursues her passion of work with youth and outreach to traumatized children, which began in earnest November 2004 on her first trip to Kenya. Following in her family’s footsteps, she first pursued aviation, attended the University of Colorado, and served in the U.S. military for six years. She speaks of hope from a military officer, war widow, and child of an addict’s viewpoint on the challenges to persevere in service and currently works in the not-for-profit sector with at-risk adolescent girls in Alaska.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
