Speaker: Lt Col Mike Drowley

Lieutenant Colonel Drowley was born July 31, 1973, in Phoenix, Arizona.   He received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and regular commission from the United States Air Force Academy in 1996.

Upon his commission, Colonel Drowley attended Joint Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training at Pensacola NAS, Florida and track selected Fighters at Vance AFB, Oklahoma.  His first permanent duty assignment was to the 25th Fighter Squadron, Osan AB, Republic of Korea, where he flew the A/OA-10 and was the Assistant Chief of Scheduling.  While at Osan AB Colonel Drowley also served as a Battalion Air Liaison Officer with the 2nd Battalion – 9th Infantry of the 2nd Infantry Division.  His next assignment was to the 354th Fighter Squadron, Davis-Monthan AFB AZ, where he became an A/OA-10 Instructor Pilot.  His duties at Davis-Monthan AFB included Assistant Chief of Weapons and Tactics and the Chief of Training and Scheduling.  While at Davis-Monthan AFB, he was selected to attend the USAF Weapons School, Nellis AFB NV, followed by an assignment to the 75th Fighter Squadron, Pope AFB NV.  His duties at Pope AFB Colonel Drowley’s next assignment was to the 66th Weapons Squadron, USAF Weapons School, Nellis AFB NV where he served as an A/OA-10 Weapons Instructor Pilot and Chief of Training.  He later became the 57th Fighter Wing Chief of Fighter Standardization and Evaluation and served as the initial cadre for the A-10C program.  Following his assignment to Nellis AFB, Colonel Drowley was selected for Intermediate Developmental Education and attended the AOC Masters course at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  While he was stationed at the United States Air Force Academy he was selected for Command of Cadet Squadron 15, which consisted of 120 Air Force Cadets and two non-commissioned officers and was later chosen to be the Director of the Superintendent’s Commanders Action Group Headquarters USAFA.  Colonel Drowley assumed duties as the 66th Weapons Squadron Commander on 4 February 2011 and is currently serving in that position.

Colonel Drowley is married to Dr. Jamie Drowley, formerly of Uniontown, Pennsylvania.  They have three children:  Jacob, Joshua, and Jordyn.
